Just 800 meters from our campsite, set off for a stroll in the heart of the marshes of the Ile d'OlonneLet yourself be lulled by this unique landscape, a refuge of remarkable biodiversity. Along the way, visit a salorge where a salt worker will tell you the history of the marshes, the ancestral know-how and the secrets of salt harvesting. Why not bring back a bag of salt as a souvenir of this authentic experience?
As you wander along the trails, keep your eyes peeled: avocets, egrets, and shelducks enliven this bird sanctuary. A visit to the ADEV (Association for the Protection of the Environment of Vendée) observatory will allow you to observe these species through telescopes, guided by passionate volunteers. For a touch of adventure, explore the marshes by canoe, boat, or paddleboard—an unforgettable experience for young and old alike.

Summer is a magical time on the Ile d'Olonne, punctuated by a variety of activities. Friday morning, immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of the weekly market with its colorful stalls of fresh, local produce. In July, don't miss the Festival of old trades, an unmissable celebration that combines traditions, gastronomy, and fireworks.
