At the Hamlet of the Avocets, We wake up to the sound of birds, have breakfast on the terrace of our lodge facing the landscape, hop on our bikes to reach the beaches of Les Sables d'Olonne and, on the way back, we treat ourselves to a moment of relaxation in the wellness area.
Neither a tent nor a traditional mobile home: these are elevated lodges with black cladding, designed for indoor and outdoor living, with a large covered terrace that naturally extends the living space. Inside, everything is provided so you can simply unpack and settle in.

The comfort of a lodge with a spa The charm of a cabin in the heart of nature
You're probably familiar with lodge tents, or safari tents, with their wooden frame and canvas walls. They're charming, a childhood memory worth experiencing at least once, and many campsites in the Vendée region offer them for a single night or a longer stay.
At Hameau des Avocettes, we chose a different path: to rediscover the charm of the’unusual accommodation, without giving up on comfort of a lodge designed for living in to the fullest.
So, where did the unusual aspect go? Into the’architecture inspired by saltworks, these salt huts are typical of the territory: facades in black wood cladding and framework open to the horizon.

A ten-minute walk from the campsite, the salt marshes of L'Île d'Olonne reveal their basins and dark wooden huts. These salt sheds, once used to protect the salt from humidity, inspired the design of the Hameau des Avocettes. Our lodges thus tell a story of the local area, while offering the comforts expected for a holiday immersed in nature.

You return from the beach at the end of the day; it's 29 degrees Celsius, and the children are covered in sand. You turn up the air conditioning, everyone heads to one of the two showers, and the dishwasher runs by itself. A few minutes later, you're outside on your large terrace, having dinner with your family overlooking the green space, while night gradually falls on the meadow.
And to extend this digression, the’wellness area Camping is also available by reservation. Hammam, sauna, ice bath and spa : enough to allow yourself a real moment of recovery after a day of relaxation, a bike ride or a day exploring the Vendée.

Signature lodges a privileged view of nature
The Hameau des Avocettes will have 9 signature Lodges with a capacity of 4 people, divided into 2 bedrooms, for approximately 35 m² of living space and 30 m² of terrace.
These are our most sought-after rentals, and the fewest available. Just a few steps are all it takes to gain some elevation and discover nature from your terrace. Upon waking, you open the curtains to reveal tall grasses, trees, and perhaps the flight of a bird. Later, the light changes, and so does the landscape. You settle outside, watch this natural space unfold, and simply enjoy the passing of time.

Here, the landscape isn't viewed from the front row: it's experienced from a terrace designed as a true extension of the living space. Two or three nights can be enough to offer yourself a real break: a long weekend in the spring with family, a few days in the autumn with friends, a getaway for two or a comfortable stop on a cycling route.
The concept is simple: unpack your bags facing the natural surroundings, reach the beach in just a few minutes, enjoy the heated indoor pool, and take the time to relax, even if your stay is short. You leave with the feeling of having truly disconnected for longer.
In July and August, weekly stays remain the priority, from Saturday to Saturday, to take the time to discover the Vendée region at greater length and fully enjoy the services and activities of the campsite.

The Hameau des Avocettes offers a more intimate setting, while remaining fully integrated into the L'Île aux Oiseaux campsite. In just a few minutes' walk, you'll find the swimming pools, THE entertainment, the kids' club, the Nid counter and other campsite services.
This allows you to enjoy the best of both worlds: The tranquility of your lodge when you want to slow down, and all the energy of the campsite when you feel like going out, swimming or participating in an activity.
The rest of the time, you are under no obligation to follow the program. Your vacation remains your own.

Take a bike And in just a few minutes, you'll find yourself in the Olonne forest, under the pine trees, before reaching the beaches of Les Sables d'Olonne via the cycle paths. Very close to the campsite, the salt marshes and the bird sanctuary offer another perspective of the area: basins, birds, and the work of the salt workers can be discovered along the paths.
In Les Sables d'Olonne, the fishing port, the La Chaume district, the beaches, and Lake Tanchet offer plenty of variety for your days. And if you'd like to venture further afield, Noirmoutier, Île d'Yeu, Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, or even Puy du Fou are all great excursion ideas. Sometimes, the best plan is to have no plan at all.

From the opening in June 2027, our campsite will offer lodges overlooking our green lung or in the heart of a Hamlet, our premium area: 2 and 3 bedroom lodges, all equipped with two bathrooms, a kitchen with dishwasher, air conditioning and a large covered outdoor area.
