The history of our campsite

The campsite was founded by two passionate couples of friends. Initially, the campsite offered 115 pitches and an outdoor swimming pool, providing a welcoming environment for its first vacationers.

The campsite is expanding with 47 additional pitches, bringing its capacity to 162 pitches to meet growing demand.

A new major milestone was reached with a second expansion of 53 plots, reaching 215 locations. That same year, we invested in an indoor swimming pool, a multi-sports ground, and a new playground, confirming our commitment to families and leisure enthusiasts.

The campsite entrance is fully landscaped, bringing a touch of elegance and nature to welcome our vacationers in an even warmer setting.

Nadine and Franck took over the reins of L'Île aux Oiseaux. They breathed new life into the campsite with a new visual identity, the creation of the Enchanted Nest, the welcoming “Nest” relaxation area, and the renovation of the entertainment room. That same year, the campsite also received the Tourism and Disability label, demonstrating its accessibility.

A veranda was built to accommodate the kids' club activities. The campsite also obtained the Accueil Vélo label, allowing us to welcome visiting cyclists.

The campsite has been awarded the Qualité Tourisme label and is opening a new outdoor aquatic area with a unique and innovative design. With the addition of 11 new plots, the campsite's capacity now stands at 226.

We are innovating again with the creation of 3 plots dedicated to motorhomes and the installation of 6 private toilets to guarantee comfort and privacy on 12 bare pitches (tent and caravan).

Nadine and Franck continue their work of beautification and renovation to provide an ever more welcoming environment. In 2024, two new restrooms will be installed on the pitches.

The campsite unveils its new website and communication strategy, reflecting its identity and its desire to better share the spirit of L'Île aux Oiseaux. New, better-equipped mobile homes have also been added to enhance the offerings, providing even more comfortable stays.

Bird Island continues its evolution with new projects designed to improve the experience of its holidaymakers.

A redesigned reception area to better welcome you

The reception area has been redesigned with an architecture inspired by a bird's nest, reflecting the campsite's identity. The spaces have been rethought to improve flow and make everyone's arrival more pleasant. It's a more functional space, where the spirit of L'Île aux Oiseaux is evident in every detail.

The Hamlet of Avocets, a new way to experience your holidays

A new premium district The Hameau des Avocettes is taking shape within the campsite. It will house upscale accommodations as well as La Salorge, a wellness center. This marks a new step to enrich the holiday experience, while remaining true to the natural environment and lifestyle of L'Île aux Oiseaux.
